Berry's Farmshop & Cafe

Adrian and Bridget Thornton-Berry, of Swinithwaite in Wensleydale, have gradually developed the beautiful traditional buildings on their estate for other appropriate uses.  There are offices and business units, including a Laundry and a bakery.

The last phase is to establish a farm shop and cafe within a courtyard setting.  Opening at Easter 2012, the shop will sell locally produced meat, game, preserves and crafts.  There is an on site butcher and the cafe will serve everything from light snacks to Sunday Lunches and evening meals as it expands.

WKD were responsible for writing the business plan and funding application and continue to be involved as part of the project team and in procurement from local producers, liaising with the local abattoir, McIntyre Meats, at Bainbridge.

Situated in Wensleydale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Berry's Farm Shop and Cafe is set within the grounds of the Swinithwaite Estate.  The farm shop will stock the finest meat, cheeses, oils, chocolates, jams and chutneys the County has to offer as well as produce from further afield.  The Butchery will select beef, lamb and game from the Swinithwaite Estate and quality meats from farms within a 30 mile radius.

Cloister Walk will house a selection of interesting Gifts and Crafts and leads to the Fruit and Veg store where you will find a variety of local, seasonal produce.
